This is what keeps me helping people suffering with dystonia!
Steve,
You sent me a link this past year to a movie called "First Do No Harm".
That movie changed my life.
Blepharospasm became a problem for me in 2009. It consumed so much of my social life and weighed into every decision I made. It actually moved from my right eye to my left after a few years, and would periodically switch back.
I tried injections in 2017 and it didn't help. After that, I was this close to brain surgery, thinking that my facial nerve was compressed.
I began with the algae food in 2014, and had limited success with it. I went 45 days at one point in 2016, but then the blepharospasm returned.
But the movie you recommended. "First, Do No Harm", pointed out the issue of brain inflammation. I reduced carbohydrates, eliminated gluten and caffeine, consumed lots of water, and started feeding my brain with the proper fats that it needs, specifically walnuts, pecans, almonds, and pumpkin seeds. I create the nut combination and add banana chips and dried cranberries. I eat this for breakfast and a snack later in the day.
My blepharospasm has all but disappeared. My nightmare and despair has ended. After a decade of utter challenge, on so many levels, I finally have hope.
Dr. David Pulmutter's book, Grain Brain, has been a great reference. But it was your movie recommendation that started this new wave of hope.
I limit carbs, reject all gluten, and eat clean, healthy fats. I still take the algae, but on a much smaller scale.
I thank you for your dedication to help people who suffer from this. You have reached out with more resources than the algae because, as you have always written, "you care".
I appreciate your online presence, giving people a place to start. You have made a HUGE difference in my life, and I am truly grateful.
Peace!
Clayton
